We are celebrating Earth Day by sharing the story of Génesis that we have developed with our community!

Our first forest, Génesis, was born 4 years ago. Just like Génesis, Reforestum has also grown and evolved over these past years, we would love to share our journey with you and show you what lies ahead!

This project has united a community of more than 1,300 like-minded environmental warriors who have offset their carbon emissions to fight climate change. At Reforestum we are convinced that the only way to save the planet is by working collaboratively.

The real impact of these actions isn’t just from planting trees, we believe that is not enough. What we are doing in these projects is regenerating ecosystems that complement the natural environment. The Reforestum team and partners ensure that our reforestation and regeneration projects are adapted to the needs of each ecosystem, to guarantee biodiversity and soil restoration. These objectives require long-term planning to ensure the survival and optimal growth of the seedlings and to achieve a true positive environmental and climate impact, maximizing the carbon fixation of the project.

For this reason, in 2017 we repopulated Génesis with 3,900 trees of 10 different species. As a result of this, our forest is registered in the Registry of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) as a Carbon absorption project.

As part of our long-term commitment, in November 2020 we carried out the second phase of our maintenance work in the forest, which included the replacement of 900 saplings with protectors. Juan Carlos Maldonado, forestry engineer, tells us more about the maintenance work carried out in this video.

Just like Génesis, Reforestum has also grown and evolved over the past 4-years. We would love to share our journey with you and show you what lies ahead! For this reason, we will be hosting a webinar that will take place on a very special date: Thursday, April 22, International Earth Day, at 1.30 p.m. BST.

We are looking forward to telling you all about our plans for the future and to introduce you to our team. Don't miss it, register now by following this link.
